The United Kingdom is not that big of a collection of islands and yet it’s a top tourist destination for people from all over the world. If you want a more unique experience from millions of other people’s check out these random and quirky places to stay in the UK.

A bucket list of weird places in the UK

1. The Llamas Pyjamas B&B

Located in Penrith, Cumbria, The Llamas Pyjamas bed and breakfast is designed with a South African them in mind, complete with a llama that can waltz into your room if you like. You’ll find this as one of the most unusual places to stay in the Uk.

You get super up close with these animals so if you’re looking to make some furry friends on your stay in the UK, it’s the best thing aside from sleeping out in the wilderness.

The llamas even wander around the grounds, which you’ll catch sight of when you’re either in your room or eating outdoors, just in case you forgot where you were staying.

◊ Facilities of The Llamas Pyjamas B&B

  • Family Rooms
  • Non-smoking rooms
  • Suites

2. The Titanic Boat

Venture into the north of England to Liverpool and you’ll find the smaller scale version of the unsinkable ship that inevitably sunk in the early 1900s.

James Cameron fans will feel at home when staying as guests on the Titanic Boat Hotel located at the Salthouse Dock. There’s a casino offered, too, as if the novelty of being on a miniature version of a famous boat wasn’t interesting enough. It’s one of the weirdest and wonderful places to stay in the UK.

  • Family rooms
  • Airport shuttle
  • Pets allowed

  • Non-smoking rooms

3. Appleton Water Tower

This Victorian water tower was constructed in the year 1877 for the purpose of refining the water supply to Sandringham House.

The rooms there were built as accommodation for the custodian that would work the water tower. And now those rooms and the viewing platform overhead can be enjoyed by guests who are looking for unique ways to spend their vacation nights.

It now is a single-suite specialty hotel and although had custodial means 2 centuries ago, Appleton Water Tower is apparently really elegant since its conversion.

4. Cley Windmill

If you’re feeling a bit Don Quixote, the Cley Windmill in Holt might just make your literary dreams come true. What’s more unique than staying at an old windmill for your trip? And anyway, it’s pretty much like any other place you could possibly stay at once you get on the inside, plus there are some pretty nice views to be seen, too.

The dining room was converted from the old warehouse built in the early 18th century. And it’s surrounded by scenic marshes close to the sea.

There are two cabins available aboard the St. Hilda B&B Afloat, which is a wooden yacht built in Scotland. Guests board St. Hilda at the Tobermory Bay in the Isle of Mull. The cabins come with their own bathrooms and for a few extra pounds, more food is available for guests to eat. Isn’t that one of the spectacular and unusual places to stay in the city?

Just make sure you’re not the seasick type or this will be the kind of vacation you would rather not remember. It’s a bit like a mini-cruise except there not hundreds of other people on there with you.
